It means \u201cadoration to \u015aiva\u201d and is called the Pa\u00f1ch\u0101kshara, or \u201cfive-letters.\u201d Within its celestial tones and hues resides all of the intuitive knowledge of \u015aaivism. Aum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BH\u0100SHYA<br>Nama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya is the most holy name of God \u015aiva, recorded at the very center of the Vedas and elaborated in the \u015aaiva \u0100gamas. Na is the Lord\u2019s concealing grace, Ma is the world, \u015ai stands for \u015aiva, V\u0101 is His revealing grace, Ya is the soul. The five elements, too, are embodied in this ancient formula for invocation. Na is earth, Ma is water, \u015ai is fire, V\u0101 is air, and Ya is ether, or \u0101k\u0101\u015ba. Many are its meanings. Nama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya has such power, the mere intonation of these syllables reaps its own reward in salvaging the soul from bondages of the treacherous instinctive mind and the steel bands of a perfected externalized intellect. Nama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya quells the instinct, cuts through the steel bands and turns this intellect within and on itself, to face itself and see its ignorance. Sages declare that mantra is life, that mantra is action, that mantra is love and that the repetition of mantra, japa, bursts forth wisdom from within. The holy Natchintanai proclaims, \u201cNama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya is in truth both \u0100gama and Veda. Nama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya represents all mantras and tantras. Nama\u1e25 \u015aiv\u0101ya is our souls, our bodies and possessions.
